世界中の街で自分の分身として動いてくれるロボットがレンタルできて、そのロボットをレンタルすると自分の家からそのロボットをインターネット経由で操縦できて、どこへでも私の代わりに出かけてくれるロボット。

ロボットにはカメラ・ディスプレー・マイク・スピーカーやいろいろなセンサーが付いていますから、日本にいる私でもその場の雰囲気を味わえます。例えばパリの街中を操縦してエッフェル塔を見たりオープンカフェに寄ったりできます。オープンカフェでは店員さんとお話ししてお茶を出してもらったり充電してもらったりします。街中を歩いて通りすがりの人とおしゃべりしたりもできます。さらに実用的には、展示会場に入っていき、展示してあるものを見たり、説明員さんとお話しして最新の製品動向を確かめることができるでしょう。

このロボットは2足歩行する必要はないですから、車輪を使った安定したロボットが良いです。子供くらいの大きさで周りの人の邪魔にはならず、かといって踏んづけられて壊れる心配のない大きさが良いですね。２足歩行ではないからどちらかというとインテリジェントな自動走行カーに近いですね。バッテリーも大きなのが使えるし、４輪走行なら安定していますから電池の持ちも良いですね。きっと彼は言葉が違っても通訳してくれるでしょう。

インテリジェントとは言っても、すべて自律的に動く必要はないので、技術的にはそんなに難しくないですよね。遠隔操縦＋操作する人のサポートをすればよいですね。安全性については、人が乗るわけでもないし、ゆっくり見て回るのが目的だからあまり速度を出す必要もないし、最低限そこに静かにとどまっていれば危険はないと思います。

こんな分身レンタルロボット欲しくないですか？人の代わりをして肉体作業してくれるロボットも大事ですが、こういう人の代わりに動いて人を楽しませてくれるロボットが欲しくないですか？このバリエーションで、シニアケアしてくれるロボットや子どもたちの知育（先生）の代わりをしてくれるロボットも出来そうですね。

It can use a big battery, and if it runs on four wheels, it is stable, so the battery life is good. I am sure he will be able to translate for you, even if he speaks a different language.

Intelligent does not mean that it has to move all autonomously, so technically it is not that difficult. We just need remote control plus support for the person operating it. As for safety, It’s not like people are going to ride on it, the purpose is to look around slowly, so there is no need to go too fast, and as long as it stays there quietly at least, there is no danger.
