To achieve this with a machanical structure would be very difficult and would result in a large, heavy, and heavy-bodied object. An electric vehicle can remain stable and stationary on its four tires. When stationary, they do not use electricity. Also, when a running car is stopped, electricity can be obtained by using the motor as a generator. In other words, a lot of electricity can be recovered by repeatedly running and stopping. A robot, on the other hand, must use electricity to keep from falling over even when it is stationary (humans get tired just standing up, don’t they?) Moreover, to move a biped robot, it must always be moved up and down to walk. It is easy to imagine how much energy that uses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Imagine how much power it would take to run a 100 kg humanoid robot with such a structure on batteries. (Small Batteries don’t last so long, do they?) Do the math, and you’ll see. So it needs bigger battery for long time use than a car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
