The reason why a robot becomes fat and noisy is because a large servo motor is placed at the joints, which makes the joints fat, and the motors and gears make loud noises because they are moved with a lot of power. If there is a servo motor that is thin, quiet, and powerful, there is no problem. However, such servomotors are not available in the world, and even if they were, the cost would be very high. Generally, it takes about 20 servo motors to move a robot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I thought of a way to avoid placing large, heavy servo motors on the robot itself. As shown in the photo (first prototype), the robot itself has only a skeleton and no servo motors, and the joints are pulled by wires. This way, the robot itself can be slim and light, and the noisy servo motors can be placed far away from the robot to make it quieter by enclosing it.
